    How do I book my Pool Safety Inspection and Repair?

    Booking your hassles free Pool Safety Inspection is easy!  Please:

    1. read these Frequently Asked Questions and the Terms and Conditions;
    2. complete all sections of the online Inspection and Repair Booking Form;
    3. Make your payment online to our bank account details provided;
    4. Email the online banking payment acknowledgement to accounts@HPIQ.com.au.

    How much will my Pool Safety Inspection cost me?

    $190 (incl GST).  Check out our fee schedule for other fees.

    What do I need to do to make my Pool Area ready for inspection?

    Nothing!  All we ask is that you be home during the two hour arrival window that we agree with you.  The Pool Safety Inspection (including minor repairs needed to comply with the Act) takes about 90 minutes from the time we arrive.

    What does a Pool Safety Inspector do? Can I help with repairs (and save myself some money).

    We check to make sure that the Pool Area complies with the Act.  Your Pool Inspector will check for many things (his checklist is nine pages long!...and he is very thorough) but in short (and if these things look like they might be an issue you can fix them yourself before we get there or leave it to us – it is up to you).:

    1. Make sure the fence and the gate are sturdy.  Shake them hard in a few different places to check.
    2. Make sure the gate opens outwards.  (If not, don’t worry we can change this for you on the day.  Make sure you adjust the Booking Form accordingly.)
    3. Ensure the gate is self locking.  Check the hinges are on springs and close shut quickly and the latches secure automatically.  (Not got this? Let us know by adding this to the Booking Form)
    4. Make sure that kids can’t easily climb or jump over the fence.  There should be no rocks, plants, balcony or structures nearby that can be used as a ‘boost’ or help to climb over the fence.
    5. Make sure you have resuscitation signage near the pool (Add it to the Booking Form now).

    For more detailed information about how to prepare for your pool safety inspection please check out our Pool Safety Tips fact sheet..

    I have done what I can, but I still need some help sorting a few things.  Can you make minor repairs when you do the Safety Inspection?

    Yes.  We are able to make most repairs needed make to your pool compliant during our first visit.  Just add what you think to the Inspection and Repair Booking Form.

    OK - I have read your website.  My pool is compliant do I still need HPIQ to do a Safety Inspection?

    Yes.  Sorry – pool safety is not a DIY thing.  You must get the certificate.

    If my pool is non-compliant, then is a second visit necessary?  Or can you make the repairs you need to during the same visit?

    Usually we make any minor repairs needed to comply with the Act on the spot. This saves you and us a second visit and you don’t pay the re-inspection fee!

    What does HPIQ charge for repairs?

    Repair costs vary.  Relax our costs are reasonable ….REALLY!  Our price list is included in the Booking Form.  If you know now that you will need us to complete repairs then please add those items to the Booking Form so that we know how much time to allocate to you job and what we need to bring with us.  If we don’t need to do this work then we will refund to you the cost of these items.

    What are HPIQ's payment terms?

    We do our best to keep our prices competitive AND deliver a great service!   We want to provide you with a hassles free inspection service.  All we ask is that you do your part by respecting our payment terms.  They are:

    1. Payment for the inspection is made by direct deposit into our bank account (details below) at least three days before the scheduled inspection;
    2. Additional work required to ensure that your pool is compliant with the Act will be charged to you on the day.  If you pay on the day (by cash or direct debit only please) then you will receive a 15% - 20% discount on our usual rates.  Of course we will let you know the cost before we commence this work.  Most clients get us to complete this work immediately.  This saves then a second re-inspection fee and makes the inspection process much quicker.
    3. Unfortunately we do not accept credit cards and we do not offer credit.  All invoices are payable immediately.  Late fees apply ($55 for the first reminder and then 2% per month thereafter).
